"In 1975 we decided to embark on the long-yearned for project of the Water Tower (Torre de Agua). A friend of ours, architect Jorge Varela López, suggested studying the possibility of building rooms inside the Tower. We were attracted by that idea so we carried out a feasibility assessment, calculated the additional slab load, the 14 storeys, the location of the lift, etc. We came to the conclusion that the project was feasible.

Norte Construcciones was commissioned to build this complex project which they finished 14 months later in record time, including the exquisite finish and respecting the style, as we had proposed. We later had the opportunity to carry out further construction works at the Hotel.

I value the seriousness and responsibility demonstrated by Norte at all times during each of these construction works. If difficulties arise, these can be discussed openly with them because Norte will always figure out an effective solution".
